CALLING ALL LOCAL SCHOOL OFFICIALS!
Be the Change for Kids, the theme of this year’s conference, embodies the notion that school leaders must find new ways of optimizing resources amid extraordinary financial pressure. The urgency of the state’s fiscal crisis, continued costly mandates for school districts, and impediments to local control and operational efficiency are so significant that NYSSBA is once again waiving the registration fee so that at least one representative from each district can attend.
By demonstrating our solidarity on these critical issues, we send a clear message to Albany on the issues that matter most to New York State schools. You must attend to:
- Convey the destructive impact of state aid cuts and costly mandates.
- Hear the latest information and strategies from top state officials and your NYSSBA advocacy team.
- Make your case with your state representatives in Albany.
Remember, Monday March 15 is Lobby Day. Don’t forget to schedule your legislative appointments in advance!

New York’s hard economic times means there has never been a more critical time for school boards to come to Albany. This year’s conference and condensed agenda has been reformatted to take place
under one roof at the Crowne Plaza. This event is so crucial to your district that NYSSBA is underwriting the cost of registration to enable every member school district to send a representative. Registration costs and conference meals are considered a member benefit.
